I believe this because I once had a friend who, was uglier than death , genuinely believed she was very beautiful. Beauty is not an absolute; it is a psychological concept that shifts with fashion and trends. What was considered beautiful 80 years ago may not be seen the same way today. True beauty lies in someone who remains true to their inner self and expresses that authenticity in their outward appearance.
