My understanding 'mention' is like a direct @, whereas a 'reply' just includes the npubs that are part of the thread.

Yes, for the sake of the experiment, because I would have for IASIP start spamming notes when it's like that.

I don’t get the difference. Reply includes the npubs part of the thread. Isn’t that the same as an @ mention ?
