I'd say it's basically the elite class and bureaucrats/government uniparty fighting populism, which they purposely label as fascism to tarnish and dehumanize opponents. Calling people they want to kill nazis and fascists. It seems like not so subtle programming by gradual micro permission messaging to their ideological true believers.
