I hope I'm right about Julian Assange being relatively intact, cognitively, after his release from prison.
Seeing his first speech after being released gave me some hope I might not be doomed to go brain-dead while locked up.

I'm still pretty sure I am doomed. Julian didn't fail Stella Assange in a way that made her weaponize him. He was permitted some self-interest, positioned to negotiate for his own safety and well-being. If I've failed Digit and she's killed herself and made me a token of that loss, I can only be a threat which must be stopped by force in order to optimize the murder machine. I'm not allowed to have the position of "it will be easiest to leave me alone and go harm others instead," I have to try to be selfless and avoid complacency in harm even at the cost of being slowly killed, because I've failed Digit.
