We did some touristy things today and struck a random conversation with an elderly couple from North Carolina.

They heard us speaking Swiss-German and asked where we’re from. Fast forward, we got around to talking about travel, and how we went to Japan earlier this year.

The elderly woman made this disgusted noise I can’t describe and said she’ll never go there because her grandfather died in Pearl Harbour.

I guess some people don’t grow out of their hatred of an entire people who most likely never had a hand in killing her Grandpa.

I don't have the boomer hate, but I do get frustrated with the ideas that older generations cling to. Not just the baby boomer generation is guilty of this either, maybe I just get frustrated with folks who can't bend. #beflexible

I did say to the lady, “well, YOU did drop a couple of bombs on them in response” just before I got off the carriage. 😄 I didn’t hear her response but I hope she got my meaning.
