I thought it might be the way I was using the device, but It can scan WIF format just fine. Either the documentation is incorrect (Specifically says it can scan SeedQR and links to SeedSigner's docs) or the software is broken.

Okay so the Coldcard Q apparently doesn't read SeedQR Compact format.

Not a problem, all you have to do is

1. Build a SeedSigner

2. Scan Compact QR with SeedSigner

3. Export the seed in non-Compact format

4. Scan SeedSigner with ColdCard Q

or just stop at 1.
