I need to do a better job of praying for our nation's leaders. They seem to promote so much evil, but that only means they need Jesus even more. It is wrong to pray that their evil deeds come to fruition, but it is good to pray that they will come to know the God and creator of the world and the savior. It is good to pray that they would follow God and His precepts. It is good to pray that God would control their actions for His good.

I absolutely need to do the same. During services at my church we usually do say some prayers for them but I never really do when Iβm praying on my own and I should. The one we say a couple times at church is βFor our country, the president, all those in public service, and for our armed forces everywhere, let us pray to the Lord.β Or generally like that and then the congregation responds βlord have mercyβ maybe every time any of this election campaigning stuff starts to irritate me (as it generally does π ) I will try to say that prayer instead of just staying frustrated
Yes.
But I also think it's very OK for them to be called to account for their evil, too.
I guess the right prayer would be to ask for repentance or justice as the Lord wills.
