I was finally able to get through to the right person at the power company and they confirmed approval is only needed if the solar install will be connected to the grid. The installers I had spoken to were wrong.
Do you have any suggestions for self installation kits?
I don't personally have any installed systems. It's just something I've been interested in. I would watch Will Prowse on YouTube. He tests many off grid systems and is a wealth of experience.
