The problem is not the fire per se. It depends where your seed laying around. Imagine it‘s in your basement and there are tons of burned down trash. Good luck finding your seed in a ocean of black burned down stuff. Been in several burned down houses. Its insane. People have no clue. Let alone sometimes is life threatening to enter burned down buildings…

So what approach would you recommend?

You’re not wrong but I always try to think about solutions. The problem is real and while memorized is important it doesn’t take much to forget after concussions.

Putting it on steel is quite ok. If possible choose another backup location. Not a fan of saving it outside of buildings too.

Not in the basement. Maybe closer to outside wall, where’s not so much stuff laying around. A fire always needs fire load…
