Yeah, sure. I'll take a little bit of severe disc failure with my coffee this morning. Why not.

My media server might be broken.

Dude I wish I had a techno catchy come back, but I just wish you well. Keep your bandwith and rest your ASCII. Stay with us.

It was bound to happen That poor hard drive was kind of limping along to begin with. I have a backup disc ready to go. It's just not how I was expecting to spend my morning.

Oh dear. I mistook your declaration as a euphemism for a health issue spinal cord).

Yeah, my media server is completely fucked. Luckily, I have a couple of recovery options and backups to all the important shit there, and all the media was not lost, of course, because those are on separate disks. But I'm going to have to completely rebuild the operating system here, depending on how good my backups and recovery is.

If you were one of the few on nostr who I know I gave access to my media server, bear with me. I'll restore your access here as soon as I can. Might take me a day or so though, because I have to go to work at some point today.

What was the server setup? You planning on doing RAID next time?

The main operating system was just a 256 gig SSD. I currently have a 500 gig in there now. I ordered a second one so I can put it in a raid so I don't have this problem again. Repurposing an old Dell tower from work.

All the media was on the NAS, which is having no problems.

Won't RAID need 3 SSDs? I guess it depends on how you set it up.
