We were talking about this yesterday. Monarchy is symbolic at best (minus the Canuck bucks that are pissed away), and the weight towards the King (and whatever the sidekick is) compared to his predecessor.
The "Crown" has evolved to an abstract concept in Canada, which I kinda like. Hopefully we can dispense with "His Majesty" but that will take time. The "Crown" is really Canada's validation node - really tough to change by the government of the day.
It will take time indeed. Incentives leaves clues.
