"Inflation is over, because I say so!"

He's trusting the stupidity of the masses, and that's not an awfully bad bet πŸ˜‚

TIL asset price inflation is not inflation #econstr

No, but it is affected by monetary inflation. Especially since that's now a major vehicle for protecting oneself from inflation.

Exactly, inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon

Totally agree with that. But this observation can be twisted to confuse people. That's why I always add the "but". Because although certain things may be true price increase, that doesn't mean inflation had nothing to do with it. Our system is so fucked that you almost need the ability to perform forensic autopsies on everything. And any time I do, inflation or government is always to blame for deep, drawn out economic issues. Issues left to market forces rarely last very long. Even supply and demand issues can be caused by government decisions. It's all fucked.

Silly Derek, only consumer price inflation counts as inflation. Just ignore the asset price inflation. The experts on TV told me so!

And also ignore food and energy and remove higher quality items people stop buying because they get priced out. You know, just don't count anything that causes the calculation to rise. Easy peasy.

Product substitution is the most insidious part of the CPI calculation. People keep moving down to lower and lower quality products to survive but because they aren't spending more it doesn't count as inflation.

consumer price inflation also doesn't count housing or fuel either lol

A massive increase in the money supply and as well as rising prices in all sectors yet, magically, no inflation in sight.

Thus it was prophecized by the High Priest of Truth, accountable only to the God King Netanyahu, whom the Slavs call the "Dobre Mileikowsky"

I guess my monthly budget is just fucking lying to me then.

lol

That's interesting.

Anyway, I looked it up myself.

It contributed to the great depression.

So you're saying we Bitcoiners have been wrong all along? πŸ€”

Why cant it be all time high, and bitcoiners still be right? 🧐

Can’t spell assets without ass.

Debt up, Dollar down!

Er ist echt die Definition von delusional. 🧒

Yeah, what's fun is looking at the ETFs replicating the S&P500, but in euros. You can see pretty clearly the impact of the devaluation of the USD:
