Platforms and their algorithms - Facebook, TikTok, X - will do anything it takes to maximize the time you spend on them. Also, they will trick you into interacting with all sorts of (provocative) content, just to find out how you tick.

Their business model incentivizes them to collect as much data about you as they possibly can, so that they can figure out what advertisements to smash into your face in order to make money.

Those platforms aren't free. You're paying with time, energy and attention. You are being turned into their product.
