knots have one dev argument is so stupid. first of all its more than one. and there are many eyes on knots.
but even if it was one, having more alternatives is more decentralized. core is a one big entity. its just a democracy of core devs.
democracy is not decentralization.
democracy can either give you the answer yes or no.
but if you have real decentralized alternatives, yes and no can live at the same time in parallel.
making an entity bigger doesn't make it more decentralized. its still one entity.
imagine if we didnt have multiple different nostr clients, and only had one, and voted on changes. would it be same as having alternative clients? of course not.
core is too used to being the monopoly. that they think they are the bitcoin (sadly they kinda are atm).
core is not ready for competition. they would crumble if something better came out for the end user.
