No way! 👀
Way way!
It is a just for fun project, the odds of mining a block are tiny, is a lottery miner.
If it interests you though you can make a NerdMiner with an ESP32 S3 dev board for about half the price of a Jade (although the hashrate is slightly lower, 50KH/s vs 80KH/s, but neither is likely to actually mine blocks and the NerdMiner has far more customisation, better UX, active open source community, etc.)
Did that thing mined a block? 👀
No way.
Nahhhh very unlikely. They're called "lottery miners" for a reason 😉
Mostly it's just for fun. The odds of actually mining a block are tiny. Even a high end GPU has miniscule odds and the low power CPUs in these boards are much less powerful than even the CPU on your phone.
Indeed that was my thought.. in the future would love to have a phone with already built-in a mini lottery miner and a #Bitcoin and #lightning node.. and why not a mini #nostr relay also 🍀💜☯️
Would love to see ASICS designed for heat emission and not hash. So I can make a hashing toaster.
I think chips are going to be limited to low grade heat for the foreseeable future but there are still some epic pleb asic heat applications... I showed this video back at our June bitcoin meetup for example:
One day I’ll build the S9 dehydrator…
There's no reason you can't write software to do this on Android today, although depending on how much compute power you allocated to the lottery miner, battery life would obviously be an issue.
Can already run a full node and relay from an Android phone, but the node will burn through your flash storage.
Everyone needs to start buying Jades! ⬇️👀👀👀 Gonna start doing this with all of mine.
Can I has? 🥹
👉👈
Just buy a Jade and flash the miner firmware through this page on Chrome!
You can also use an ESP32 S3 Display board to make a NerdMiner which is a cool little open source project dedicated to being a lottery miner.
Ordered an ESP32 S3 Display to make a NerdMiner too 👌
