Hello and welcome to nostr… as for what to expect on the platform you are on, not sure, don’t know what app you are using. The awesome part of Nostr is that if you don’t like the platform you are using, take your nsec key and log into another and all your data is there also.
Thanks for the insight. Learning as I go about open source, Nostr how it works, platforms, apps, etc.
I’m on Damus is that not what you using as well? Lol
Any good resources I can check out to learn more?
I prefer Damus for social media, but there is a lot of stuff out there and more in development everyday. The cool thing is that Nostr is so new that most the developers are floating around and will ask for help testing new apps, but both https://nostrapps.com and https://nostr.net have great resources and lists of apps

for Android:

For Android and iOS:

For iOS only:

Depends, here few interesting options:
1. You are fine with custodial wallets (your money...):
Go for Wallet of Satoshi (https://www.walletofsatoshi.com/), get the app, add the address to your profile, it does not have NWC, but you really don't need it. (doesn't work in USA, unless you use a VPN)
2. The impatient with no time looking for the most complete web based non custodial web wallet:

Few things you should know:
1. get a check mark in #Nostr, there are few options, I suggest nostrcheck.me, once you get it, edit your profile and update your Nostr-Address, not having it will hide you in some clients
2. follow hashtags, a good way to find like minded people
3. think of your nsec as your Bitcoin private keys, act accordingly
4. chose a client that respect your privacy, meaning, you can sign in with a Signer protecting your nsec, it has TOR built in and above all, you can manage the relays you use. I suggest nostr:npub142gywvjkq0dv6nupggyn2euhx4nduwc7yz5f24ah9rpmunr2s39se3xrj0 t
5. add your lighting address in the profile so you can get zap, few options out there, I suggest nostr:npub1h2qfjpnxau9k7ja9qkf50043xfpfy8j5v60xsqryef64y44puwnq28w8ch for most people
