just pure statistics :)... it's already a low probability instance... on top, there is also low chance that you have visited mempool at that exact time :)

i was hoping to do an xfer to cold storage now, but im going to wait because i assume now the next 10 blocks will be very slow and end up making transactions expensive :)

well, it could! we could also just see random blocks at random times being slower than normal to average this all out to roughly 10 minutes ;) either way, i'm going to wait a bit before doing my transfer. i'm more of a 1 sat/vbyte kinda guy :)
Send your transaction.
Set the fee to 1 sat/vb.
Go on with your day.
I never understand why people delay their transactions instead of setting their desired fee... and just... waiting.
well, it depends where you're transferring from. exchanges don't generally allow you to set transaction fees :)
exchange fees aren't typically dynamic either.
they almost always overcharge with a set 'network fee' that has little to do with the actual mining fee.
Agreed, especially right now. They get picked up within 24hrs or so.
