Isn't the plastic going to melt?
If it was printed with normal PLA filament it would. PTEG was used for this print however, it will withstand the heat.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. So the plastic is kind of a barrier and the vents allow heat out.
Right, there is a vent on the bottom too for intake.
