I’ve heard some commentators claim that the world will be worse off when America loses its hegemonic control over the world.

I’m not so sure.

Monopolies breed corruption and complacency. While America has been the sole superpower, it has focused externally on starting wars rather than internally on the health and welfare of its citizens.

America’s best days was when it was competing. Its entrepreneurial spirit, prosperity, and moral compass made it a “shining city on a hill”.

I’m hoping those days return.
