Just rejected by nostr:npub10pensatlcfwktnvjjw2dtem38n6rvw8g6fv73h84cuacxn4c28eqyfn34f . What’s a broke developer supposed to do? Is Social Onboarding not worth funding? Have I not worked hard enough to get an MVP out the door?

I am not daunted… but this is a HUGE setback. I now have to shift gears to fundraising “on the side” (and shift to other paying gigs, which I’ve put aside) rather than developing “in earnest” as I have been.

Mani’s gotta eat, but I’d rather work on Nostr.

If you know of ANY Nostr adjacent businesses who might wish to sponsor Nostr’s PREMIER Social Onboarding client … please comment or send me DM. I am actively looking for business sponsors now.

Sorry to hear. Also really curious why? It seems like an excellent idea to me.

As a central hub to which MOST IF NOT ALL would be Nostr developers apply, nostr:npub10pensatlcfwktnvjjw2dtem38n6rvw8g6fv73h84cuacxn4c28eqyfn34f honestly has more to offer than just money.

If ONLY their rejection letter included some sort of “improve on this” or “we’d like more of that” or even “so and so is doing something similar … you may be interested”…. It would help us plebs to pivot our efforts and stay engaged. But no.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for submitting your grant application to OpenSats. We regret to inform you that your project was not selected for funding.

We received a large number of applications and were unable to fund all of the worthy proposals. The applicant pool was very competitive, which is a great thing to see in and of itself. Unfortunately, your application did not make the cut this time around.

Feel free to apply again in the future: https://opensats.org/apply

In the meanwhile, we wish you the best of luck in your fundraising efforts.

Sincerely,

The OpenSats Team

I imagine you all may be overwhelmed with the number of requests you get for support. Would it help to have volunteers to help write the rejection letters, and the assessment team can send a few bullet points over for them to explain to the applicant why their particular project didn’t make it?

As you know well, it takes a lot to tirelessly work for free, and then to receive zero ‘reason’ for a rejection is rough, and must make it hard to want to continue, since one doesn’t want to work on something that ‘doesn’t make the cut’ without any idea why.
