How do you access nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 on your phone if you don't want to expose your nsec by pasting it into the app? #asknostr

wouldn’t that information be kept on your device?

If they would’ve taken their time when creating our identity strings, they could’ve created a random shuffle of your string. That way you’re not actually creating a random string, which would run out eventually, you’re just reusing yours in different ways. Seems like that would’ve been smarter than hacking away at it like this.

you'd assume that yes but you don't know. Just something that came up during my stream and I think we found the answer.

no doubt, but if it is kept on device, this whole conversation is moot. Personally, I would just ask the developer before I went through all of that, lol. And considering how many apps are currently available to access Nostr, it would be rather silly to expect it to work any other way.

The best workarounds are the ones you never need to use…
