🇺🇸 🇨🇳 U.S. TO CHINESE SHIPBUILDING: TIME TO PAY PORT FEES OR PLACE A DOMESTIC ORDER
The U.S. is rolling out new fees on Chinese-built vessels docking at American ports, with charges starting at $50 per net ton in October and climbing to $140 by 2028.
The policy, first floated under Biden and finalized under Trump, aims to boost U.S. shipbuilding—without sinking global trade overnight.
Operators can dodge the fees by ordering U.S.-built ships.

China is rattled because it's the first time a national government is fighting back at them and hitting hard where it hurts, ie. At their ability to project economic power.
Every other recent US administration and other national government around the world has been treating the CCP with kid gloves or outright sucking them off for decades out of fear of trade repercussions, ie. China using their economic weight to force through foreign policy in other nations.
Say and think about Orange Guy what you will, but this matters a lot for the entire planet, and that its being done is something that few people are willing to appreciate.

I would appreciate, if Trump would have done this. Putting tarrifs on chinese goods, to lower their influence.
But this is not at all the intention. Trump put the tarriffs on almost all countries of the world. So he wants to destroy trade to other countries. This means all other countries will be more dependent on China. Not less.
For me it is one thing, if a known totallitarian regime with a single communist party is stressing the global economy. Since no one ever traded with China for being a friendly country. It is because they are cheap producers.
But until 20.01.25 the US has been a friendly country to other democracies. Therefore most are happy to make trade with the US. But when the US has the illusin they could piss everyone off and hold their wealth. This orange dude and his population can gladly piss off and look for themselfes. And no, tharere will be no thank you for economic destruction. Not a little bit.
I hope this guy will be in prison soon and the american population can start breathing freedom again. And those American who think this can wait, still do believe, that there will be fair elections.
When a president does not respect the courts decisions, nor parlamentarian processes, why on earth this same presiden should be respecting demicratic elections?
