The library we are using (kingfisher) doesn't support it, but i noticed there is a fork called kingfisher-webp, but not sure if we want to be on an unsupported fork #[2]

Gotcha. I have ffmpeg on the server so I can convert webm files to mp4 if the videos are really short, but if they're long it would take a good while to convert.

Just to be clear, are we talking about webp or webm? And in relation to pfp/banner or video streaming in notes?

ah sorry i was thinking about webm not webp. I just wanted more efficient video banners/pfps.

There are animated webps too

Wouldn’t that be static/animated webp? I think #[2] is referring to webm not working in link previews
