I had made quick progress.

broke out the engine hoist and laid it down flat... then I cut away the major chunks on the bottom and left side.

This was the “roughing out” phase, which tended to go more quickly. I was removing the stone while leaving myself a healthy safety margin that I would approach later on in the process.
