Wanted to pull the trigger and buy a 49" ultra widescreen monitor for under $1,000 but thankfully I checked the capability of my laptop graphics card first and realized it can't push that many pixels 🫠

Sounds like you had an interest in that monitor, but a conflict with your graphics card. Smart move to recognize that and change course.
