those are usually to help you "get the most" out of the app, not as a primary means of learning how to use the thing. Even then, a lot of people just skip over that stuff.

So am I. If you close the tutorial and have no idea how to use the app, the designer has failed.

well yeah, the ux also needs to be intuitive, but no matter how intuitive it is, many apps provide successful orientation processes. it's not as black and white as this post makes it out to be. ux is important, but a guide is also important
