My kids now have something called a "Flexible Instructional Day" instead of snow days. They're remote school days. They're essentially bullshit though. Some teachers just take attendance for the period and that's it. No school work. No instruction - ya know, because it's flexible. This counts as a normal, educational day.

Absolutely. Just give them the damn day off. Having to check in every hour for a class that may or may not be doing instruction is fucking stupid and a waste of a day. You can't do work and you can't go have fun.

Heaven. That feeling in bed when you hear your town listed on the radio (I’m older, we used the radio back in the day).

Jump right up. Look outside. Calls made to friends. It’s on baby. Fun day for all.

Exactly. I remember dressing up turning on tv almost ready to go then seeing my school cancelled for the day and feeling absolute relief and joy that I can go back to bed and wake up to do nothing.
