It’s telling that “crypto” people don’t use [insert shitcoin] to pay each other in the real world.
Why? Because they don’t actually think of cRyPtO as *money*.
Whenever I’m out with Bitcoiners, we use #bitcoin because it’s our money.
We save it, we spend it, we measure in it. 
Plus nobody wants to do the conversion between 10000 "tokens".
Would take an hour of trading with eachother to pay that bill 😭

I'm not a btc maxi so unpopular opinions coming....
I pay with ltc many things because of its cheap fees, relatively fast on chain transactions (no layer 2 or side chain complexity), and is not something I worry about accumulating. It seems to be breaking Gresham's law. To bad development is stagnant in many ways.
I originally didn't care for the lightning solutions out there because they were not simple for your average normies. They'll drop btc as an option the minute it takes more than 5min to explain. Then when you talk about incoming liquidity and self custody you lose them completely. On chain self custody wallets are simple to onboard folk on but most don't bother using btc when they see 10-60 minute transaction confirmations or high fees. Still I do get a few that keep those for long term storage. Not ideal but better than custodial solutions. Thinking of adding satscards to my onboard process.
However this changed recently with advances in lightning. LNBits, NOSTR, lnurls,... So after this pump I'm trading my ltc into btc.
I feel Breez wallet changed the whole lightning network usage hell. They offered a self custody solution, using them as an lsp, that is easy to get a normie on under 2 minutes. Decent amount of incoming liquidity to start as well so they'll never hit the limit in the beginning. Seemless on chain integration without hiding what it does. Their solution truly "Just Works". Now that is, it took them some time but it's how I onboard everyone these days. I use the lightsats.com onboard gifts/tips service with breez as the suggested wallet. I print out the QR Codes on a phonemo label printer and place them on taxationistheft.info cards when tipping folk or orange pilling normies.
For compute I use ethereum. Unfortunately that project went POS and now I need a replacement. I just keep enough for some defi use cases.
I do not think BTC should do compute (yes I know it has some functionality already). I think btc should concentrate on being the best money it can be with scalability improvements and speed. You don't want to end up like gold.
Anyhow just my opinion.
