Exactly, I don’t like how we are divided here with this.

My family are immigrants to Oz, I was born in Europe and came here when I was 18 months old. My family has always celebrated this day as being grateful for allowing us to live here, for the opportunity and new life it gave us 💜

My understanding from 19th century novels was that Britain shipped prisoners off to Australia to get rid of them (or give them a second chance, depending on how you look at it) - so the early colonists were not exactly voluntary.

Yes but some of them didn’t treat the indigenous people with any respect and sadly made slaves out of them.
