Senators are accusing Facebook & Instagram CEO Mark Zuckerberg of stonewalling hundreds of their questions about failing to adequately protect children online. Facebook & Instagram may generate more revenue by having its algorithms promote harmful content to teenagers.
In addition to pressing Facebook & Instagram on its efforts to stop its algorithm promotion of sexual extortion of minors and other child safety issues, members questioned the company about its algorithms handling of covid-19 misinformation, content about the war in Gaza and the Hunter Biden laptop controversy.
