So when are we freeing the videogame industry from tyrants and thieves?
Discussion
I'm already free. What's your problem?
Well *you* might be free, but Nintendo sure ain't
I don't understand. It seems like the company has a lot of liberty and freedom to me. What are you saying?
Hey, you want to buy a console that youāre ālicensed to useā and call it freedom, thatās on you. If I cannot alter my own electronics without a company bricking my device for doing so, and my physical game media contains only a key to use the game from an online server, Iād say thatās a big step in the wrong direction for the gaming industry. But hey, you do you
Actually I don't want to buy a console if I have to promise not to alter it. I don't want to buy physical game media if it contains only a key to use the game from an online server.
Maybe that's why I'm so free when you and so many others seem to be dealing with problems. The way I see it, the biggest problem with the gaming industry is how many players like you want to go crying to daddy government that you can't play bideo gaem, and how so many of you are willing to put on a chastity cage and do business with someone who clearly doesn't respect you just because you can't imagine a world where for 5 entire seconds you aren't consooming THIS SPECIFIC media.
The video game industry is what every individual gamer makes it for themselves.
Well, thatās an opinion š but thereās some truth in it, certainly. We do have the opportunity to create our own games and share them in whichever way we wish.
I hadnāt insinuated that Nintendo should be governed against this practice, but I can see where you got that from.
The insinuation Iām attempting to make is: it would be excellent to develop a home for indie devs to share their games on Nostr.
Harsh words youāve got, but thereās some good stuff in there too š
