This very cool concept, 3D printed, reusable, tamper-evident case for holding your fireproof seed word washer set...

What makes it tamper evident

It's a brilliant design!

When you tighten down the lid, a transparent, flexible membrane locks a huge number of colored beads into place. You take a photo of that configuration, and there's no way that the beads can be restored to their previous position once the lid is unscrewed...🚀💥💖😁

Is there an app? Otherwise how would you tell north south on the picture?

I imagine it would be fairly easy to rotate the image into alignment...

I'm also pretty sure that, once release and recaptured, the bead arrangement would be so radically randomly different, the change would be more than obvious.

Oh I just zoomed in further, is there an arrow on the cap?

I don't recall; nevertheless, the random pattern would be visually self-orienting...

Looked again; yes, there's an arrow!😃

if the *metal* plate were in a fire with this thing around it, this tamper thing wouldn't really work, and also, it could be imaged with an x-ray to read the fireproof seed card.

i would make it out of steel, line it with x-ray resistant lead on the inside, use a sheet of quartz glass for the viewer and make the beads from colored quartz glass.

the tamper resistance mechanism is pretty awesome, but it's ironic to make it out of plastic when the thing inside is fireproof.

I believe it's intended for a stack of washers....

I suppose you could surround them with a lead sleeve.🤔🧐😁

yeah, that would solve the x-ray imaging problem. i'm pretty sure devices like the ones used in airports, but with a higher resolution could give you the text on the rings if you image it at an angle and then stretch the image upwards (i mean like at a 2 degree angle or so).

If you EVER need to expatriate a stack, my money is on pattern recognition and recollection...

Just save your stack in your head, or better yet, a couple of heads...
