They did have razors and knives. Remember Levites took a vow to never cut their hair. Some hair cutting must have been the norm. Probably nothing like the haircut I have.

i have done it, with fancy diamond sharpeners and shit, it's not easy with a regular whetstone, and i assure you it takes a lot of time, maybe an hour, to get a blade that is adequate for cutting meat to shave with, maybe an hour with a strop (leather strap)

Lol, I think you are agreeing with me and calling me a communist. I said that cutting hair with knives etc existed BUT NOT LIKE TODAY. It would be a fairly infrequent thing and not cut short.

But yes I have sharpened a knife to where I could shave with it. Yes it is hard and I generally don't have the time or patience now.
