Bill C-5 appears to give the federal cabinet the power to override existing laws, including conflict of interest rules and financial oversight, simply by declaring a project “in the national interest.”

This is coming from a government that has already been caught funnelling hundreds of millions to insiders (see: ArriveCan), and now they want the legal authority to bypass the very laws they’ve already shown they’re willing to ignore.

Canadians are being governed by thieves and criminals.

Think about that when 43% of your income evaporates in taxes. Then think about it again when you pay another 10–15% (or more) in taxes every time you buy anything. And once more when the cost of everything rises thanks to government-induced liquidity and inflation.

Thrives and criminals indeed, the corruption that’s been coming to surface is so vast you can’t even keep up with it.

Why the effort to override when they can simply ignore then

I think it's to make it less of an issue, when it comes to elections. By removing the discussions surrounding illega activities, they have less to worry about, when competing against other parties.
