LLM systems probably will put an end to the giant downloads, first by using LLM generation for textures and then eventually to models and movement

That would be an interesting game.

Especially if not everyone had the same experience.

yeah, i can imagine it will be a boon for story-rich games too - to be able to instead of manually writing a dozen or a tree of story arcs, to just let the LLM spit out a few hundred alternatives and then encode the prompts to generate the story controller. and most likely, there will be ones that have less guard rails, games in the same sort of style as Valheim and Kingdom games where the landscape is randomly generated

i play the long dark also, and it has a nice story play mode but it has been a bit frustrating since finishing it, the cliffhanger of the last episode and then the studio switched to focusing on the survival mode. LLM driven plot and synthetic character performances would be amazing for making a hybrid adventure/crafter/builder style game, never the same game twice...
