If you are unable to delete events, database will grow too large and be harder to maintain and it will be bad for smaller instances. The spammers are going to make relays fill up fast

realys can delete events.. there is nothing that prevent's them from clearing up their database... so that's not the problem that NIP09 is preventing

I was just having fun with the comment.. nothing to seriously consider... "Delete the Delete Nip"...

but in any case, deleting events seems to be hard.. not working.. so not sure there is a point in having a NIP anyways
