#PUBLIC AND #PRIVATE KEYS

#BITCOIN WALLET VS. CENTRAL BANKS

When you put money into your bank account you use your account number and routing number which is your “public key.” If you give someone else your account and routing number the only thing they can do with it is send or deposit money into your account. They cannot use this to take money out because it is your “public key.”

However, if you give someone your login information to your bank account they can take all of your money because this is your “private key.”

When you put money into your #Bitcoin wallet you use your QR code/SegWit address which is your “public key.” You may give your QR code “public key” address to as many people as you wish and they can ONLY send #Bitcoin to your wallet but cannot take #BTC out of your wallet because all they have is your “public key.”

However, if you give someone those recovery words you wrote down on paper, etc., they can take all of your #Bitcoin because those 12-24 words are your “PRIVATE KEYS!” Keep your private keys private and offline.
