When I was building the van, I didn't know what to put on the door for a long time. We have wood paneling all over the walls, but it just didn't seem right for the doors. Eventually, of course, I put it off until it was too late and there was no time to think of anything fancy. So I decided to simply take the leftover lino we used for the floor and screw it in so that the bottom white side was looking out at us. Then I bought a bunch of markers and watercolor paints, with the idea of letting the kids use the door as a place to paint. It was a great idea.

The first photo shows little Ed, who just got markers for Christmas. A year later, we started using brushes and watercolor paints and the door has improved greatly.
