How do we choose our art (in this case media content)? Is it by individual choice or is it by influenced choice?

It is naive to believe that society is inherently “good” or “bad”. Trying to regulate individual choice denies what it means to be human. Trying to regulate influenced choice admits it.

Legacy content providers have had to deal with the rating agencies for decades. Each movie gets reviewed and rated. Access is then regulated by the distributor.

Social media content providers have skirted these protocols, allowing them to save on expenses, which is maybe why their market cap is so outrageously high.

It’s the governments’ job to regulate in order to ensure domestic tranquility.
