People used to hunt whales in order to get kerosene to burn a lamp. Then comes oil - 1000x more efficient

Oil was like fire - a primary energy network which allowed us to radically accelerate how quickly the economy produced new wealth/innovations

So I’ve rowed competitively for over 15 years…

my best half marathon was an hour and 19 minutes…

my average watts for that was 243 which is pretty fast but not international fast…

the average person would produce more like .2kWh if they went as hard as they could for an hour so they probably couldn’t even earn 10cents tbh lol
