These lines by Guillaume sometimes return to my mind. The words conjure up the image of a society infused by moneyprinting.

And the cows keep grazing, slowly poisoned as they are by the diseased fields. Yet, the meadows are beautiful in the autumn. There is a superficial charm to the poison.
