His reasoning for things costing more today are, and I quote:
"That's because of a lot of reasons. That because of environmental protection rules, more regulation, minimum wage, labour rights, safety at work, better and more complex infrastructure, more amenities, better public safety, food quality regulation, and a higher standard of living and disposable income.
Go back in time and see how well the standard factory worker lived. Sure, can support an entire family in a detached home on his salary. But they didn't have complex, nice shit like we have today.
Kids were left outside to roam with other kids. Given nothing but sticks and rocks. Hand me down, hand repaired clothes. No electronics. Lucky if they had one TV."
