WORLDCOIN IS STUPID AND WILL FAIL SPECTACULARLY.

With the important stuff out of the way…a few thoughts about ALTman’s Worldcoin video that’s trending on the shitbirdX app.

1) The video appears to be taken in Shanghai (Shanghai Tower is visible in the background)

2) This is NOT a long line both of objectively and CERTAINLY by Chinese standards…it’s like 150 people max. I’ve seen THOUSANDS of people lined up for a sneaker release in SH. This line is lame.

3) The CCP almost certainly has no idea someone brought in one of these dumb ass orbs (they probably told customs it was something for an Xbox lol). But whoever brought it is going to get a nice tea date with the SH Public Security Bureau, shit, maybe event the BJPSB and MSS as well…

4) China will not engage with Worldcoin AT ALL. Why would they? They already have Wechat and Alipay fully co-opted, why let laowai ALTman in on their surveillance stack?

5) If the Chinese Govt DID go along with Worldcoin, shit would be mandatory and sign up would, minimally, be a touch more official than an orb on the ground on an unlit street somewhere in Shanghai…

6) ALTman probably told his Twitter intern (maybe a Chinese kid at Stanford) to give him footage of a “long line” to hype up Worldcoin and buddy just had someone send him a video of “people observed standing in a line in Shanghai” from one his Wechat groups - easy enough to edit in the eye orb at the end.

7) ALTman quotes “someone signing up every 8 seconds” because that sounds like it must be a big number to midwits…that’s around 10800 people per day. Again, sounds like alot if you don’t understand scale. At this rate, we’re looking at 2030 YEARS (not the year 2030) to onboard the planet’s 8B people…
