You triggered a memory with your Bristol comment:

A long time ago ...

I went hitchiking throughout the UK. I was picked up for a short ride in Swansea Wales that took me from the town center to the ferry (ferry eventually took me to Cork, Ireland 🇮🇪).

Anyway, upon entering the vehicle, which was being operated by a teenaged hooligan who in turn was accompanied by 2 others just like him, I could tell it was stolen - mostly from the steering column which had been left open and the fact that they started the car with a screwdriver.

Anyway, long story short, I left my bag, with all my maps and my camera and my address book in the car when I left.

After coming home to the states a month or so later, my sister told me she had recieved an international call from the police in Bristol England.

My bag was recovered from the crashed vehicle there. 🤷‍♂️
