Thanks to #[0] ‘s bookkeeper plugin and a script that converts the output to ledger-cli, i can finally see how much money I’ve made on CLN routing fees since 2018:

$ ledger -f cln.ledger bal routed

CAD4543 expenses:routed

CAD-4558 income:routed

--------------------

CAD-15

$15 (41732 sats)! Interesting to see I’ve also routed $4550 worth of payments 👀

Now do zaps:

$ ledger -V --depth 3 -f cln.ledger bal ^income:zap

CAD-18073 income:zap

CAD-17222 event

CAD-851 profile

--------------------

CAD-18073

My average monthly income this year: $3682 USD 🥲

Also, #ZapsAreTheWay 🔥🔥🔥

I should do a longform post on CLN accounting with bkpr and ledgercli 🤔

Man I didn't know folks still messed with ledger-cli... This is dope!

its the best. I love it.

I was playing with it last week, but it's really nice for lightning. Never thought about it till now.

Cool thing is that it doesn’t care about denominations and can convert between them. In the ledger file everything is in msats and then I just set conversion rates at the top of the file. Then you do -V/-X to show it in fiat, sats, bits, or anything else you want.

I love Damus so much would be so cool if there was a Translate option

There is

Never heard of ledger either, I would definitely read your write up on it. Using summary plugin I just crossed $5 in routing fees, been running this node about 18 months

yes please!!!

Rookie numbers.

Fellow Zappers… we can do better.

Are you kidding? You’re buying the drinks

This is the way. To think we are just getting started. Soooooo early.

How much time do you spend on channel balancing? That's what kicked me out of the game. Any tips?

I have a cln node sitting idle. Would like to do something with it.

I wrote cln-feereport back in a day for this purpose. https://github.com/kristapsk/cln-scripts

that's so cool!
