The whole Sputnik is funny to me now. Look how we have been programmed by fear to respond to breakthroughs.

Someone else launched a satellite? Rather than being inspired about the future we become scared. Someone open sources artificial intelligence? We all freak out.

Point is Sputnik and deep seek are good and it's only fiat lens that turns it into a bad thing. Closed source models means everything is based on secrecy and we have been embracing that?

All levels of AI will eventually be opensourced. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for companies to profit or create value to “customers”

There’s no stopping this train, as they say.

The fact that people take media reports of “breakthroughs” like DeepSeek at face value will forever be hilarious to me.

“Stay humble and stack sats” as a wise man once said, is the way to go in my humble opinion.
