I'm sick of phone numbers and the KYC that comes with them. We should be able to generate something else as needed. Similar to how SimpleLogin does with email addresses. But maybe tie it all together with a public/private key pair instead of a single email/phone number.

It's actually kind of retarded to tie so many critical things to a single phone number that can be pwned so easily.

I also shouldn't need to tie my identity to a mobile device just to connect to the internet/web. That's ridiculous. I should be able to hop around and pay sats to whichever network I'm using without any other bullshit. Similar to how WiFi access works.

phone numbers are so retarded

A friend's wife stopped by to pickup one of my old cameras for him last week and I asked him if he gave her my number so she could contact me when she arrived.

Mafacka told me he didn't even have my number because we always use Signal 😂

Kind of felt good after the bewilderment wore off. I've been so conditioned to use phone numbers that I didn't even realize we'd completely bypassed the archaic concept by accident. It just naturally happened and I didn't notice. I don't think we need them anymore.

Also, there should really be a hierarchical concept like in wallets. I don't want to give everyone the same public key. I want to hand out a different public key to every person. That way it would be obvious if they sell my contact data, and I could trash that pubkey.
