Thank you so much, Evelin for testing! That explains it well. Inkjets are water-based and don't handle heat well, while laser printers use toner, which is a dry powder substance which actually require heat to work.

I find another easy solution with ink

My inkprinter is very old and I have not used it a very long time - it will be better with one you use everyday: I simply took paper I use for foiling on cups - (very cheap paper) and laminated first only one side, then I took the foiling paper away and laminated as normal
All in all 5 minutes - bc i supposed it to be very experimental š So if you take your time Iām sure you will have nice and proper results with your inkprinter
Very helpful tips š« thank you. This will be my task for tomorrow. This kept me up over midnight. GN
For this one I did use my very old ink printer and Forever Multi-Trans btw
I just found out that you don't even need special paper. It works perfectly with copy paper as well!
1) Print on copy paper
2) Laminate one side (make sure to work with the back button! You don't want the second side of the laminating pouch to stick to your laminator!)
3) Soak in water and rub off the paper
(Don't worry, once laminated, the color adheres really well.)
4) Let dry
5) Run it through the laminator again
Done!
However, the easiest option is still to buy coated film for inkjet printers š

Thanks, I'll definitely go out and buy coated film and try it š. I tried your method and the layer that sticks to foil won't come off without heavy scratching which is leaving marks and I can not leave it on. I need better transparency results like yours. Maybe the quality of the laminating foil is different idk. I'll try to fine someone who will print me with a laser printer.
