Thoughts on gossip?
On the Damus front: going through a huge performance refactor atm, but things Iโm eyeing right after that:
- better onboarding
- longform notes
- push notifications
- lists
- relay identity and relay sets
About half my time spent is working on a new multiplatform tweetdeck-style nostr client. I started working on a piece of it called shatter, which is a fast nostr content parser in rust: https://github.com/damus-io/shatter
Discussion
gossip is ok, Iโm using the same ui framework. but not sure if there is much code I can use from it.
I mean NIP-65
oh lol, dunno what that is

Solves relay discovery
I donโt think you need computers to do this, humans can gossip relays if they think they are worth joining.
The idea is that if you follow a certain number of npubs you can find on what relays they claim/tend to write on and connect specifically to those
The goal is to not depend on bug relays but be able to easily find personal relays of people you care about.
We already built this in damus just by looking at relays in contact lists ๐ค
I would find it helpful to have an algorithmically generated relay suggestion list based on followed profiles though, instead of manually looking them up on individual profile pages.
I mainly visit profile pages to check out timeline content, and forget to look at the relay section.
I built this with nostr:npub1jutptdc2m8kgjmudtws095qk2tcale0eemvp4j2xnjnl4nh6669slrf04x in prague we just need to polish and release it
Ah, I thought you only meant the profile page relay lists at first, sounds excellent, looking forward to this getting release ready.
I still think, as more people might start running relays, relay selection dependent feeds could become much more interesting.
