it is possible to love unconditionally even those who hurt you, while at the same time putting up boundaries to prevent present or future harm. sometimes those who hurt you teach you a valuable lesson

Maybe you can, I for sure can't. If I " loved" someone and they killed my dog I would no longer love them.....I would think of them as monstrous.
